Capturing the Launch of ‘Protecting Girls, Transforming Futures’ in Malawi

At Eluby Consulting, we believe that development communication is at its best when it moves people. A powerful image can spark hope, a well-edited video can drive a message home, and an aerial perspective can show the true scale of a community coming together.

Recently, our media team had the privilege of putting these tools to work in Chimutu, Lilongwe Rural. We were on the ground and in the skies to provide comprehensive photography, videography, and drone services for the official launch of a ground-breaking initiative: “Protecting Girls, Transforming Futures: A Partnership to End Child Marriage in Africa.”

A Bold Vision for Malawi’s Girls

As documented in the event’s initial highlights, this five-year program represents a major milestone for child protection and gender equality in Malawi. Spearheaded by UNICEF Malawi and the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), the initiative aims to accelerate efforts to end child marriage, keep girls in school, and expand life-changing opportunities.

The rollout is ambitious, targeting 10 critical districts across the country:

  • Nsanje
  • Chikwawa
  • Mulanje
  • Thyolo
  • Machinga
  • Mangochi
  • Dedza
  • Mzimba
  • Mzuzu
  • Lilongwe

By reaching these communities, the partnership is actively strengthening the framework that protects girls’ rights and empowers them to reach their full potential.

Telling the Story from Every Angle

An event of this magnitude requires storytelling that matches its ambition. Our goal was to capture not just the itinerary of the day, but the energy, emotion, and unity of the partners, leaders, and community members present.

  • Impact Photography: Our ground team focused on capturing candid moments of joy, solidarity, and leadership—such as the vibrant unity shown in the community photos.
  • Cinematic Videography: We documented the speeches, traditional dances, and key launch moments to create a compelling recap video that partners can use for ongoing advocacy.
  • Drone Coverage: Using aerial videography, we captured the scale of the gathering in Chimutu, providing a unique perspective of the community that stands to benefit from this project.

Why Visual Storytelling Matters in the Development Sector

For Eluby Consulting, covering this event wasn’t just a corporate assignment; it aligns deeply with our passion for supporting the public health and development sectors through creative media. High-quality documentation ensures that the momentum generated during a launch isn’t lost—it transforms into a tool for transparency, future fundraising, and public awareness.

Every girl deserves the chance to learn, thrive, and shape her own future. We are incredibly proud to have played a part in documenting the first steps of this transformative journey.

On the Ground: Documenting Phase 3 of the National Polio Vaccination Campaign

The Mission

Our team is currently deployed in the Southern Region, working alongside UNICEF from 16–19 June 2026 to document Phase 3 of the national polio vaccination campaign.

With a focus on protecting children under 10, this campaign is a monumental effort to eradicate polio and secure a healthier future for the next generation.

What We Are Documenting

Through impact photography storytelling, we are capturing:

  • The Frontline Heroes: The dedicated vaccinators traveling door-to-door and setting up clinics in remote areas.
  • The Communities: Families bringing their children forward, united by a shared goal of health and protection.
  • The Partnership: The seamless collaboration between local health authorities, UNICEF, and international partners.

Follow Our Journey

We believe that powerful imagery has the ability to drive awareness and celebrate progress. Over the coming weeks, we will be releasing a full photo series from this deployment. Keep checking back to see the impact of this vital campaign firsthand.
